We (Trekking Compass) understand that completing a trek is cathartic, but there are instances when you cannot complete a certain trek. This can leave you frustrated and disheartened, our cancellation policy is our way to lighten this instance for you. We do not claim that it is a replacement for the trek, but it's worthwhile, nonetheless..
Below you will see how our cancellation policies work for different instances:
Standard Cancellation Policy (Money Transfer): Trekking Compass
Here are the situations and the refunds you are eligible for as per the situation:
Standard Cancellation Policy (Vouchers): Trekking Compass
Here are the situations and the refunds you are eligible for as per the situation:
Special Case: If you are a candidate cashing in a previous voucher to go for any of the available treks, the same cancellation policy will apply to you too. The vouchers, if expired, will not be refunded.
What if you want to reschedule your trek with Trekking Compass?
Here are the points you’ll need to consider if you decide to reschedule your trek:
What if your trek is cut short due to health and fitness issues?
You should be physically fit to complete the trek and enjoy it. Whilst on the trek, you may experience, in rare instances, shortness of breath, altitude sickness, and inability to move forward due to overlooking the fitness guidelines for the trek.
This creates a situation of discomfort for you, other trekkers and our team as you are to be taken back. These occurrences will not be refunded either through cashback or vouchers. Therefore, you are advised to maintain your fitness before coming on one of our treks.
What if we (Trekking Compass) shift a trek?
These are rare cases when due to some natural, local, governmental, or healthcare issues, we might have to pitch you another trek or reschedule the same. There can be two circumstances here:
You chose the alternate trek: In these conditions, if you choose a trek that costs less, we’ll pay the remaining amount to you as a redeemable voucher valid for a year. If you choose a trek with a cost higher than the current one, you will have to pay the difference.
You chose to reschedule the same trek: In these conditions, we will provide you with a 100% cash voucher for the same trek which you can redeem anytime in the coming year.
Things to be noted:
For trekkers who opt out of a trek, there are two options available, which are:
In any case, you cannot avail both. You can either take cashback or a cash voucher.
If you violate any conditions and on-trek guidelines like smoking, drinking, or causing distress to other trek members, you ensure your descent from the trek from that point onwards. Trek leader will take this decision to maintain the integrity of our services and you will not be refunded or given any redeemable vouchers. In worst case scenarios, your non-compliance to our in-trek behaviour will result in you getting permanently banned from using our (Trekking Compass) services.
Cash vouchers will not be redeemable by a money transfer. These vouchers are only available for the specific trek we mention in the email when you accept a cash voucher instead of a refund. These cash vouchers are not, in any case, redeemable for a trek outside of India if we arrange any in the future.
Trekking Compass holds all the rights to edit and change this cancellation policy, and we are not bound to send you any prior notice.
