Our (Trekking Compass) journey began with a single step or rather, an unexpected turn. After working as a project manager in Chandigarh, family ties pulled our founder back to Dehradun in 2018. It wasn’t long before the mountains began calling. As if guided by fate, he found himself lost in the witchery of trekking expeditions, exploring nature's beauty—RAW and UNTOUCHED. It started with a 50 km trek from Kapkot in the Kumaon range into the Garhwal range—no mules, no porters—just a backpack, a compass, and a spirit; unwavering and determined. This trek, completed entirely on foot, sparked something deep within. It wasn't just about reaching the summit; it was about finding the courage to carry everything, literally and metaphorically, along the way.
Fast forward to 2021, when Trekking Compass was born. Armed with experience and a vision shaped by that grueling 50 km adventure, we officially registered the company post-COVID. It was registered under the "Adventure Tour Operators dealing with Mountaineering and Trekking" category, recognized by Uttarakhand Tourism and the Travel Trade Registration Rules-2014 (amendment 2016). If you categorize us as “a mere trekking company,” we will be offended. Trekking Compass serves you more. Our treks are more than trails—they're opportunities to bond with nature. From traditional homestays where we serve local grains (no store-bought stuff here!) to engaging in the 'Clean The Himalayas' campaign, we’ve committed ourselves to nurturing the environment that nurtures us. Why blend in when you can stand out? Our mission is to walk light, leaving only footprints and taking back memories.
'Living the adventure' is just right to define our spirit. From adrenaline-pumping treks that cater to all skill levels to leisure walking in the high Himalayas, we've GOT IT ALL. Whether you're craving the thrill of traditional homestays, looking to participate in destination events of diverse genres, or engaging in cultural activities with fellow travelers, we're your go-to. Trekking Compass isn't just about the trails; it's about being a part of something bigger. We're here to make trekking not just a journey but an experience. One that will surely uplift your spirit while caring for the mountains we love.
So, why the name 'Trekking Compass'? Well, we've got the experience and the know-how. Our team is one of the mountaineers trained at NIM (Nehru Institute of Mountaineering) and certified in Search and Rescue (S&R). Registered under Uttarakhand Tourism, we're not just any trekking company—we're your reliable guide in the wilderness. Like a true compass, we'll lead you through passes, glaciers, and trails less traveled, helping you find your way, even when the journey gets tough. And in 2024, we became an ATOAI-certified member, a badge that symbolizes our commitment to safety, adventure, and professionalism. With certifications and registrations backing us, we've got your back from base camp to summit. So, are you ready for a journey that's not just about reaching a destination but discovering the true spirit of adventure? Let's blaze new trails, walk light, and leave only footprints behind!
Did you know that around 40,000 trekkers head to Everest Base Camp each year? At Trekking Compass, we're not just about following the crowd; we're about blazing those hidden trails where the mountains truly test your spirit. With us, you won't be one among thousands—you'll be part of something far more extraordinary. You'll exceed your own expectations, safely and confidently. As mountaineer, Reinhold Messner once said, "Mountains aren't fair or unfair, they're just dangerous." We take that to heart. Every step with us is an opportunity to challenge your limits, guided by experienced trek leaders who've logged thousands of trekking hours. We're here to make your journey more than just another trek, rather it's an adventure of self-discovery wrapped in THRILL and CAMARADERIE.
Did you know that 29 metric tonnes (MT) of solid waste are generated along a mere 19-km trek? Not with us. We're committed to walking light and leaving no trace. The only thing we leave behind is gratitude for the mountains. Inspired by the saying, "Take only memories, leave only footprints," our treks actively contribute to the 'Clean The Himalayas' campaign. Every trekker with us guards the trails and leaves nature as pristine as we found. Together, we are set to prove that adventure and sustainability can go hand in hand.
"Great things are done when men and mountains meet," said William Blake, and that's the ethos we live by. Our treks aren't just about the kilometers covered—they're about the connections made, the fears conquered, and the memories that last a lifetime. With over 60% of our trekkers returning for a second adventure, it's clear that our journey isn't just about reaching the peak; it's about the bond formed with every step. We believe every trekker deserves more than just a trail; they deserve an experience that touches the soul and leaves a lasting impact.
